The small town of Tangalle, in southern Sri Lanka, was badly damaged by the Tsunami of December 26th 2004. As well as the loss of life and injuries there was considerable damage to the infrastructure.
Following joint finance by The Drinking Fountain Association (registered charity number 207743) and IDEALS, the construction of the water tower at Tangalle Primary School, has begun. A study of the history of medicine has shown that more lives have been saved by the provision of clean water and sewage facilities than any other single factor.
