Dr Andy Ferguson spent two weeks working as a doctor in Gaza, at the European Hospital in Khan Younis, helping treat people with severe trauma wounds from bombing, shrapnel and gunfire.

'Huge amount' of Gaza surgery on children, says UK doctor
After six months of conflict in Gaza, the medical infrastructure has severely deteriorated, with many facilities no longer operational. April Gaza Crisis Update
As of April 8, 2024, the conflict in Gaza has resulted in 33,207 deaths and 75,933 injuries, with women and children making up 70% of the fatalities. Heavy fighting continues with only 10 of 36 hospitals partially operational due to severe shortages. Over 1.8 million people are displaced, facing critical shortages of water, food, and medical supplies. A staggering increase in malnutrition among children has been reported, with many suffering from communicable diseases. Amidst these conditions, humanitarian efforts are focused on delivering emergency medical aid and planning for long-term recovery and rehabilitation. Urgent donations are requested to support these life-saving missions.
